About Veronica

Internationally acclaimed mentor, speaker, consultant & author. Veronica Canning is a much sought after business mentor who has 25 years’ experience of working at senior level across a wide range of companies across the world.

Veronica  works with business people in Ireland’s blue chip companies addressing many of their challenges, including developing an executive presence and building or repairing their personal brands. She uses her considerable practical experience when she works on a on to one basis with senior executives.

Companies use her to develop their high potential managers and rely on her discretion and deep experience to guide them to identify possible barriers to their success and to find solutions. She is an excellent listener and helps people to understand and reframe their challenges. In particular, she works with people who have high potential but are jeopardising their careers by their behaviours.

As a result of her considerable experience, Veronica has developed an extensive knowledge and tool kit and her defining contribution is her ability to guide people to finding the exact right answer to their challenge through developing an in-depth understanding of themselves and others, their points of view, motivations, and reactions. She is sought out to work with managers and their teams in difficult underperforming situations.

A hallmark of her approach is her ability to encourage people to make ambitious plans for their future and to fulfil those ambitions using her many creative thinking tools.

As well as her work with individuals, Veronica has designed many group programmes, all customised to the company’s exact challenge. She has worked across all sectors and sizes of enterprise, including SMEs, multinationals and public sector organisations. Veronica has worked with the EU in Bosnia rolling out one of her customised programmes for key leadership figures in the post war reconstruction effort.

She has specialised in being a motivational speaker, especially in recent years where she has spoken widely to senior executives and entrepreneurs. Veronica’s characteristic style, whether mentoring or speaking, is high content delivered in an engaging approach with lots of humour. She illustrates all her work with stories from her own work. Her entertaining style leaves her audiences and clients inspired, energised and motivated to think differently.

She has extensive media experience and ran her own business –based radio series in 2012 in which she interviewed senior executives from a range of industries on key business issues.

As a business executive, she has travelled extensively both in her work with Trocaire and the Red Cross.  As a speaker, she is highly sought after for her motivational speeches on personal performance and business issues, most recently addressing audiences in Dubai and China. As an author,  she has had books published in Ireland, the UK and the United States. Her sixth publication, “Shoeisms the Book”, was published in New York in 2009 and sold out on amazon.co.uk. Her next book on personal branding will be published by  the Institute for Chartered Accountants of Ireland in September 2013.
